support your local comic book!

okay...

two posts back, my pal scott suggested that, while standing on my soapbox suggesting that everybody check out the let's-call-them-"smaller" (indicating their print run and/or exposure in the marketplace rather than, of course, their stature as prime examples of the comic book art...whew!) comics being published these days, we make a list of books that you all are reading and recommending. i guess the only pre-rec is that they not be published by marvel or dc--again, nothing against them, just that they have it so easy.

truth, justin, and the american way

oh, brian--good call!
i used to love his 'far west' book and then picked up 'boneyard' for the first five or six issues. then,, sadly, as happens with smaller books from time to time, my store told me that they couldn't get it--diamond hadn't ordered enough or something. by the time i saw it on the stands again, it was a buncha issues later and i felt like i'd be olost. gotta go and buy those back issues and catch up.
same for the speakeasy book 'grimoire'. i was diggin' it and then--couldn't get it. wish diamond cared as much about comics as we do.

Yeah, its been a good read and
he's gone in some fun and unexpected
directions with the story line.

Are you and Craig doing any local New
England shows in t he near future. If so,
I can bring the back issues along for you.
