perhapanauts forum
okay...well, last week i directed everyone's attention over to the image forums where our own perhapanauts now have their very own message boards. craig and i try to stop there every chance we get and, sure, there's not much to talk about until the new series comes out in february, but there are some really nice topics for discussion up already! i've been copying this blog there (though i still haven't figured out how to html the pictures...) and craig has started a good one about the music we're listening to and scott's started one about the comics we're collectively reading.
my favorite though, and if you know me by now i'm sure you can guess, is the one our own perhapa-boards moderator, bill nolan, started--encounters with the unexplained!
here, again, is a link so you can check things out on your own.
there hasn't been a LOT of activity on the subject, but i'm hoping that more and more people--and more and more of YOU!--will stop by and re-count your own strange experiences! there are already a few nice one--or rather, creepy ones--from
gor-illa, mrkelly, and dknobius, not to mention the "signs" inspired (inspiring) one from bill himself! good stuff! come and share!
or start your own discussion! that's what it's there for!
progress report: things are moving along really well with the perhapanauts annual and the new series! craig and i are hoping to have lots of cool news things for you in the new year and we really feel that 2K8 is gonna be the year of the perhapanauts! we'll be posting more as things continue; a little behind the scenes stuff and some sneak peaks for those of you that just can't wait! keep your eye on the blog!
i usually try to keep things fairly pc here at the blog, though i would never claim to be totally pc myself. i dig all sorts of humor and think that sometimes people take things a bit too seriously. that said, i got these great motivational posters from my friend, teresa, the other day and they killed me. well, some of 'em did. none of them offended me, but there's a chance one or two might offend you, so...here's your warning.

see ya friday with "five for--"
smell ya later!

Language is such a tricky thing that I try never to be offended at anything I read or hear until I'm sure the person is trying to offend me. It's intent that matters.
I work with two Polish guys. Since I'm of German ancestry, they like to call me "kraut" and when I walk over to their desks, they'll call to each other, "Oh, #@*%, here come the krauts again, invading our country!" It's all in fun and I don't get offended at all. Now, if they were serious, that would be a different matter.
Anyway, those pix were hilarious. Though the guy with his face in the urinal made me gag a little. I had a night like that once.
I've seen those pictures (in a catalog for DespairWear or something like that, I think)....I had the same feeling, Matt--the guy in the urinal was bad. On top of which, I wondered if it was a staged photo or a candid one. If the latter, I hope he wasn't drowning while someone took his picture.
I'm trying to post as much as I can on the forum, I was thinking of starting a thread as well. Once I get it straight, and work quits getting in the way I'll do it.
I'm not easily offended and I tend to be very sarcastic at times, but it's all in good fun. It's very hard to tell though online what someone is trying to convey, kind of like that blog posting you had Todd that one time, so I, like Matt will wait to see the intent.
As for the pictures, they're great!1 My gf actually sent me them the other day and I damn near pissed my pants, mostly at the procrastination one, cuz that's how I am with anything I try to draw. It spends ALOT of time as a blank sheet of paper!! As for the urinal guy, that kind of made me gag a bit as well, but it's hilarious! I also loved the popped collar one as well.
The wife had just sent me those pics last week. Gotta say I enjoy "Consideration" the most, 'cuz that's practical info—don't ever piss off the huge effing gorilla.
I hear you on the PC/offending people thing. My mouth is severely lacking a filter between it and my brain. I usually blurt out whatever pops in my head. Luckily, it's mostly humorous, though I have offended a few people in my time. But they're usually the vapid, pretty-type who think the world revolves around them. Either that or people with no sense of humor. (See? No filter.)
Offended?
I'm offended others would get offended at such, and you know they chuckle about it behind closed doors, and drawn curtains...this is why the curtains are always drawn at my house!;)
Funny stuff...
Will have more strange tales to put up at image down the road(not all mine, but they are creepy!)
When can we see those sneak-peeks?
I'm a cat lover, and I'm not offended so I think you're safe from the PC Police Todd.
As for the guy doing the face plant in the urinal, definitely a posed picture and I'm not 100% convinced it's a real guy as opposed to a dummy. Though if it is a real guy, dummy is the nicest thing to be said about him.
ah, brian -
quite possibly... but posed by WHO? drunk friends can be cruel.
and funny.
Ahhhh the flipped collar look...one trend I hoped would never return!
Too funny!
I don't insult easy.
Even when someone is actually trying to offend. I just shrug it off with that whole "sticks and stones..." thing.
"popped collars"? ...and they said Elvis was dead ! !
Now, if you want to be totally non-PC...just type in google image "epic boobs"...
yep...
Just for the point of seeing something totally non-PC...thass all!
...am I the only one who saw the urinal pic and felt sorry for the person who's gonna have to unclog it?
Thanks for sharing :)
