smart vs wise
okay...
Smart vs Wise
A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, 'This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.'
The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, 'Which do you want, son?'
The boy takes the quarters and leaves
'What did I tell you?' said the barber. 'That kid never learns!'
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. 'Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?'
The boy licked his cone and replied, 'Because the day I take the dollar, the game's over!'

so, it seems that some people still haven't had a chance read PERHAPANAUTS 2 yet, so we'll save the discussion 'til monday, okay?
that doesn't mean that i can't go on a little bit more about the awesome job my pal, rich case did on our back-up story, "the other arisa." rich did it all one these pages--pencils, inks, and color--and if his lush artwork didn't fit the story perfectly, i don't know what would have.
here's a taste of rich's rough pencils and then the finished piece for you to gaze at!
enjoy, everyone!

thanks, rich!
wonderful!

Five Fer Answers
1-Bonnie Hunt
2- ??
3-Jennifer Connely
4-Robin Williams
5-Christopher Reeve
On the five for I've only got No. 4, Robin Williams.
So, Todd, what do you think of the recent news reports that they have been able to date some of the cremated remains buried at Stonehenge to 3000 B.C.
Pretty good timing what with the cover to Issue No. 3 featuring it.
Mr. Case did a "whiz bang Cracker Jack job" as Dennis The Menace used to say.. Love Choopie watching them from the shadows. An excellent issue all around. Congrats, gents.
i love the picture of the kid! where'd ya get it todd?!
i feel bad-i've been sitting on my thoughts on the book for over a week now, and some people haven't gotten to read it yet.
Rich's pieces were just great to look at, nice to see his roughs though!
I only knew the aforementioned Jennifer Connelly and Robin Williams on the five-fer.
Brian-where'd ya read that about the remains dating?
USA has a story on line here.

i hadn't heard any of this about stonehenge--it's crazy cool! of course, you know, i'd like all of this to be true--make things much more unpredictable--and magical!
of course, i can't think about any of THAT right now, craig and marc just sent me the youtube featuring kate's freaky phone call from last night's lost...
crazy...!
Hilarious story Todd!
Thanks for posting my roughs, btw! I have to say I was happy to see the colors reproduced the way I wanted them too... I was a bit worried since that was a new process for me!
Looking forward to seeing you guys at HeroesCon. Not long now, boy!
Wow. Thanks for the heads up on the phone call. I hadn't heard about that.
